  • Featuring 53 cabins, the gracious and intimate National Geographic Orion takes travelers to little-known waters and isles in the South Pacific, Australia, and Indonesia to experience each location's natural and cultural wonders up close. With her high ice-class rating, National Geographic Orion is strong enough to explore the polar regions, yet her elevated maneuverability allows for navigation of inshore waters, secluded bays, and sinuous rivers—practically anywhere accessible by sea. At the helm of National Geographic Orion is an expert crew, capable of handling intricate operations that large cruise ships could never attempt. The ship features modern navigational equipment and technological abilities that allow her to navigate safely, even in uncharted waters. She currently holds the distinction of having sailed further south than any other vessel in the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet. National Geographic Orion offers guests a spirited, almost clubby environment onboard. Of her many amenities and features, the most appealing is her outdoor deck space, which beckons in the balmy reaches of the South Pacific and beyond and offers a range of panoramic views of the region’s rich avian and marine life.

Explore lost civilizations amid paradisiacal, seldom-seen isles

Sailing in the wake of early Polynesian navigators, this Tahiti expedition strikes to the farthest reaches of Oceania. From remote and enigmatic Easter Island to the historically significant Pitcairn Islands through the “low islands” of the Tuamotu Archipelago to Tahiti, you’ll visit islands that are virtually inaccessible and untouched. The voyage begins in one of the most isolated landfalls of Polynesia: Easter Island. See the legendary moai statues up close and hear the leading theories on what happened to the people who created them from top experts. Walk the length of untouched tropical beaches, meet the descendants of H.M.S. Bounty mutineers, and drift dive or snorkel through an atoll pass. DAY 1: U.S. / Papeete, French Polynesia Depart in the late afternoon for Tahiti and arrive late in the evening on the same day. Check into a hotel room and spend the evening at your leisure. DAY 2: Papeete / Embark This morning enjoy breakfast at your leisure and spend some time exploring the resort while adjusting to island time. Meet your fellow travelers  for lunch and then join us for a tour of Tahiti before embarking the ship in the late afternoon. DAY 3: Makatea An uplifted coral atoll, the island of Makatea is one of the most unique landforms in the Pacific. Spend the day exploring limestone caves and grottos with your expedition team and local guides, or search for endemic fruit doves and myriad seabirds, then snorkel among colorful fish on the nearby reef. DAY 4-8: At Sea / Tuamotu Archipelago Today we begin our exploration of the “Dangerous Archipelago,” in Fakarava, one of the largest atolls in French Polynesia and part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Explore the protected reefs or ride the current into the lagoon on a world-famous drift snorkel. From here, your Captain and Expedition Leader will determine our next spot for exploration. In true expedition mode, we will visit some of the Tuamotus’ most remote islands, taking the opportunity to explore them by land and by sea. Navigate reefs and islets as we make our way east and explore one of French Polynesia’s many uninhabited atolls such as Tahanea. DAY 9: Mangareva Spend a day at sea scanning the horizon with our naturalists or relaxing on deck with a good book. We then arrive at Mangareva, the largest of the Gambier Islands, with its interesting history and beautiful lagoon. Venture underwater to snorkel, meet islanders to learn about their culture and the missionaries who made their home here, or go on a hike with our naturalists. DAY 10-13: Pitcairn Islands / At Sea We begin our exploration at the famed Pitcairn Island. Many of the mutineers of the legendary H.M.S. Bounty made their home here in the late 18th century, and about 50 of their descendants still live here today. Meet the residents and hear a few words of the unusual Pitkern dialect—a combination of English “sailor speak” and Polynesian phrases. Visit the gravesite of the last surviving Bounty mutineer, John Adams, and see the Bounty’s anchor, which was salvaged in 1957. We continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Henderson Island, an uplifted atoll that is uninhabited and virtually untouched by humans. Discover the island’s four endemic bird species, rich flora and fauna, and fascinating geology. At  Ducie Atoll, spend time spotting frigatebirds and boobies or snorkeling among spectacular reefs. Diving is available for guests on the National Geographic Orion. DAY 14-15: At Sea As we voyage east toward Easter Island, head up to the Bridge to watch for wildlife and observe expert navigation at work as our skilled Captain and officers sail these historic waters. There’ll also be time to enjoy a massage in the wellness center, workout in the gym, and browse in the library. Each day our naturalists offer talks that add depth to your experience. DAY 16-19: Easter Island, Chile / Disembark / Santiago / U.S. Arrive at Easter Island where you will check into the Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa (or similar) for two nights. Explore volcanic calderas, jagged lava fields, and sweeping grasslands to discover the colossal moai statues, the astonishing legacy of a long-lost culture. Join archaeologists to examine these statues and discuss their meaning and creation; visit burial sites, quarries, and intricately carved ceremonial altars. Join our charter flight to Santiago, Chile for immediate connection to your overnight international flight home. Restrictions that Apply: Prize valid for one Category 1 cabin for two persons, for departure on April 16, 2023. • The two Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe models feature sharp silhouettes and satin finishes exuding a sense of stealthy refinement. Set atop are their robust unidirectional rotating bezels with blue ceramic inserts and Liquidmetal® hour-markers. The Bathyscaphe’s crystal-clear legibility and razor-sharp detailing are juxtaposed by the warm and inviting blue tones of the dial, whose shimmering reflections play with light thanks to a beautifully executed sunburst finish. Rectangular hands and chapter rings composed of gold and Super-LumiNova® dots evoke Blancpain's historical Bathyscaphe editions.    Forged in steel, the 38mm Bathyscaphe is equipped with Blancpain's renowned self-winding Calibre 1150. The 43mm version is crafted from grey ceramic and powered by Calibre 1315, a technical and precision timekeeping benchmark in the realm of luxury sports watches.   Both movements are visible through a sapphire case-back revealing all the beauty of a sandblasted and satin-finished 18K gold winding rotor engraved with the Blancpain logo, along with snailed and beveled bridges.    Exclusively for Oceana's SeaChange 2022 auction winner, Blancpain offers the possibility to make the timepieces unique by replacing the Blancpain logo on the winding rotor with a personalized engraving. Engraving is not part of the standard offering within any Blancpain boutique, so this is a rare opportunity to personalize the watches that define the standards of fine-diving watches for the entire industry.   Water-resistant to 30 bar, equivalent to 300 meters, both watches are offered on sail-canvas straps.  To see the art and craft that goes into making a Blancpain timepiece, take this 2-minute virtual tour of the Blancpain Manufacture.   Specifications: 43mm | 38mm   About Blancpain & the Fifty Fathoms  Established in 1735, Oceana's partner Blancpain is recognized as the world's oldest watch brand. For nearly three centuries, its tradition has been innovation, and it is a major innovation that established the brand's bonds with the ocean.    In 1953, Blancpain presented the first modern diving watch, the Fifty Fathoms. Then CEO Jean-Jacques Fiechter, a passionate diver who realized the vital importance of reliably measuring time underwater, thus marked both diving and watchmaking history defining the standards of fine dive watches for the entire industry. A true tool watch, the Fifty Fathoms was immediately adopted by elite military units around the world, including the French Nageurs de Combat, the US Navy Seals and UDT, the German Kampfschwimmer, and many more.   Three years later, in 1956, Blancpain brilliantly presented the Bathyscaphe model as a reliable diver's watch whose size would make it suitable for everyday wear. Named after the deep-diving submersible invented by the Swiss physicist and explorer Auguste Piccard, the original Bathyscaphe dive watch was introduced as the civilian complement to the more professional Fifty Fathoms. It came in a smaller size and was targeted toward the recreational diving market.   Generously donated by Blancpain

  • As you arrive amid the lush and rolling hills of historic Franklin, Tennessee, you find yourself breathing more deeply, feeling more at ease. It’s as though you’ve been transported to a simpler time, when the pace of life was more mindful, more deliberate. A vast expanse of farmland—325 acres—surrounds you, with greenhouses on one side, and rows of heritage crops, orchards, and gardens on the other. On the winding road that leads here, you begin to understand the purpose of this place, for you are already immersed in the journey of the land and those who came before us. The perfect blend of old and new, tradition and innovation, it’s the evolution of Southern hospitality—a setting just outside of Nashville designed around the connections we crave in a world that too often rushes past the things that matter most. A working farm. An inviting inn. Dining and spa experiences that honor the cycles of nature and incorporate its bounty. This is Southall, and something special is always growing. • This is the first collaboration between good friends and former Lightning Bolt team riders, Gerry Lopez and Paul Naudé. Gerry Lopez, one of the world's most iconic surfers and cofounder of the famous Lightning Bolt brand in the 1970's and this year's Oceana Ocean Champion, Paul Naudé, surfed and completed Hawaii's Benzai Pipeline during the golden era. Both have been hand crafting surfboards for over 50 years and for the first time, specially for this year's SeaChange Summer Party, have collaborated to build this iconic replica of the iconic "Pipeliner" surfboard that was first design to successfully ride the tube at the world's most dangerous wave. Gerry shaped this surfboard using the same templates and profiles as he did back in the 70s and Paul glassed and finished the board as they were done back then - a glass on single fin, no leash plug and polished finish. This a true collector's item. Board Dimensions - 7'6"x19"x 2 3/4" Value: Priceless! Generously donated by Gerry Lopez and Paul Naudé
  • Enjoy lunch for you and a guest with award winning actor, activist and Oceana Board Member, Ted Danson at an exclusive restaurant.  About Ted Danson:  To most, Ted Danson is known for TV and movie acting roles, but for those in the conservation movement, he is much more famous for his work as a passionate ocean advocate and Oceana spokesman. The son of an archaeologist and anthropologist, Ted grew up understanding that cultures leave an imprint on the Earth and that some legacies are indelible, for better or for worse. Despite growing up in landlocked Flagstaff, Arizona, Ted grew an affinity for the water through years of routine pilgrimages to visit family in California. His call to action came years later, during his tenure as Sam Malone on “Cheers,” when living in Santa Monica he saw a sign at the beach reading, “Water polluted, no swimming.” “Trying to explain that to my kid was hard,” he remembers, “It got me questioning a lot of things.” Shortly thereafter, Ted met environmental lawyer Bob Sulnick and become involved in a movement to prevent digging for oil wells in Santa Monica. Buoyed up by the victory, Danson accelerated his involvement by helping create the American Oceans Campaign in 1987, which eventually became Oceana in 2001. In the last two decades, Ted has been complimented by his staunch ocean advocacy, appearing in public service announcements, appealing to donors and testifying to the government on the condition of our oceans. He currently sits on Oceana’s Board of Directors where he and his wife, actress Mary Steenburgen, continue to fight on our oceans’ behalf.
