  • Medium: Mixed-Media, Acrylic, and Epoxy Dimensions: 40" x 40" About Truong Buu Giam:
Truong Buu Giam is a Southern California-based artist whose work defies normal classifications, falling somewhere in the field of abstract impressionism with Asian art overtones. Applying his training in traditional Vietnamese watercolor on silk, Giam extends this technique to control and blend the flow of liquid resin (originally used to marbleize furniture or flooring) to create beautiful abstract backgrounds before accenting and complementing them with subject matter using acrylic paint. Giam considers marine art to be a perfect fit for his style of using liquid epoxy. The epoxy flows onto the painting surface like water, so the ocean and undersea life are subjects that are naturally compatible with this painting technique. Giam’s Marine Life Collection is influenced by his memories of growing up in the Vietnamese coastal town of Vung Tau, Southeast of Saigon, where he regularly spent time at the beach. As a young officer in the South Vietnamese Navy, he visited many islands off the coast of South Vietnam and interacted with rich marine life such as turtles, fish and coral. Speaking of his artistic focus on marine life, Giam observed that: "Marine life is more mysterious–it is not seen every day. Most people do not regularly get to appreciate its beauty unless they are scuba divers or snorkelers. Through my art, I'm proud to play at least a small part in sharing the beauty and wonder of the oceans with others"- Truong Buu Giam Value: $17,000.00 Generously donated by Truong Buu Giam

  • "Oceans" Original Oil on Canvas by national award winning artist Georgeana Ireland. This 48" x 60" oil painting on canvas features crashing ocean waves in thick impasto paint with accents of metallic leaf, semi-precious pigments and diamond dust. Orange County artist, Georgeana Ireland's paintings show in galleries across the US.

    About Georgeana Ireland:

Georgeana Ireland is a Southern California artist specializing in large scale Lyrical Abstract Art. Her artistic process began as a child; artistic talent runs on both sides of the family. As a teenager she painted many hours a day and she began exhibiting in galleries at age 19. She studied privately with numerous teachers but primarily she considers herself autodidactic. Her greatest influence as an artist was a period of intense travel around the world- 43 countries. She spent many hours in museums taking notes and “dissecting” the art with her eyes as photography was not allowed. She feels the museums were her greatest teacher. Her current body of work is large scale and has a dreamy narrative quality to it. A noted colorist she paints with thick impasto layers in oil and acrylic and then adds diamond dust, 24k gold leaf and holographic pigments. Her monumental work “Twilight Mood” 6’x24’ was selected by Los Angeles Cultural Affairs and Los Angeles World Airports (LAX) for display for 3 years. In 2015 the Museum of Latin American Art selected Georgeana Ireland and Vladimir Cora to paint “Tres Graces Long Beach” live at the museum. They painted starting with a blank canvas neither of them speaking the others language only using the language of paint.Georgeana Ireland's paintings are in private and public collections across the US and she has shown in museum and gallery shows around the world.

  • As the first LIULI art piece to incorporate the use of silver foil, this sculpture symbolizes congregating vitality, prosperity, harmony and health. Both the water movement and fish were incredibly difficult to craft; each section relying on expert understanding of balance.  Seen here, nine fish (one hidden) charge in an upward and spirited flow, working together to achieve great things.  The first to reach the top shows the peak of their aspirations, painted over with gold and silver foil as if sunlit with success. Value:$6,050.00 Generously donated by Liuli

About Kevin McHugh: The bold and the beautiful of culture can blend with that of nature. But in the art and life of McHugh NYC founder Kevin McHugh, they’re meant to be together. “My love affair with New York City, coupled with my admiration and respect for the majesty of sailfish, was really what sparked me to embark on this project,” Kevin says. Traveling between the worlds of NY nightlife, fashion, and music, Kevin became a fixture of them all, as a career manager for music and visual artists. He crossed the globe promoting their diverse projects and hosting premier events, from intimate gatherings in Denver to multi-thousand-person concerts in Spain. His travels sharpened his appreciation for artistic expression, and for distinctive and unique objects of beauty. It was when he became intrigued by the elegant sailfish that the novice artist embarked on his own visual venture. ”The more I researched these fish and other billfish like Marlin, the more I wanted to showcase them, and bring attention to their plight of being overfished and possibly brought to the verge of extinction,” he says. Merging his interest in the fish and his aesthetic inspirations, Kevin launched a boutique business creating fiberglass renditions of the creatures, adorned with different materials: everything from iridescent mother of pearl and brilliant Swarovski crystals to leather and lacquer. The pieces are meant to change the way people perceive the notion of “trophy fish” by transforming them into stunning works of art. Kevin’s exquisite pieces have been sought after by an exclusive audience to date. He counts Patricia Field and Wendy Williams among his many clients. Miami’s affluent Ocean Drive magazine recently celebrated his art by featuring a McHugh fish in their Art Basel/Holiday Gift Guide Issue. Value: $5,000.00 Generously donated by Kevin McHugh
  • Egg Tempra 2017.
My art has evolved through several stages which have generally paralleled my place of residence and travel. Living in California, Hawaii and Wyoming has contributed to my work.   Nonetheless, the emphasis on my impression and emotional response is the dominant force behind my efforts.  Currently,  I am studying and trying to use the relationships of art to physics  as it applies in creating my  work.  The use of egg tempera has enabled an opportunity to paint undersea subjects. Whether I am privileged to be holding a brush or not, each new visual experience evokes for me a creative response, which as it develops and matures may eventually find its way to canvas or paper" - Marianne Champlin
