An incredible five-stop itinerary to South Africa and Botswana for two.
The first stop is Cape Town at the V & A Waterfront Hotel in the heart of the city, where you can recuperate from your flight as you enjoy magnificent views of Table Mountain. From there you will take a three-hour road trip up the Cape to spend two nights at the newly built, highly acclaimed Lekker Water Lodge on the coast in the wild De Hoop nature reserve. There you will enjoy local culinary delights and walks along the rugged beaches and absorb the wonder of the Southern African Indian Ocean.
You will then travel to Jeffreys Bay, home of the world-famous wave “Supertubes.” You will stay for two nights at the amazing “African Perfection” guest house overlooking the renowned break. There you can surf and watch whales and dolphins in the magnificent bay and enjoy this iconic beach town.
It will then be time to leave the coast and head two hours north into the bush to enjoy an amazing safari experience at the exclusive Hillsnek Safari Camp situated above the Bushman’s river on the Amakhala private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. Here you will get close to South Africa’s small wildlife species. Hillsnek Safari team are very involved with Rhino conservation, and you will be offered a one-on-one experience with the armed anti-poaching unit to learn about the efforts that go into protecting these magnificent beasts.
More wildlife awaits you in Botswana as you fly north to enjoy three nights at the newly established Dukes Camp in the heart of the spectacular Okavango Delta. You will stay in luxurious safari tents situated under a canopy of ebony and leadwood trees. This area is home to the world’s largest population of African Elephant and boasts spectacular viewing of a variety of African wildlife.
LEKKERWATER BEACH LODGE
Located a little more than three hours’ drive from Cape Town Lekkerwater enjoys an enviable position perched between land and sea atop the ancient dunes of De Hoop. This remarkable coastal reserve is famous for offering some of the world’s best land-based whale watching. Southern Right whales migrate here from Antarctica to calve and breed in the warm seas offshore. Since 1985 these waters have been designated as a Marine Protected Area, and sea life has flourished.
