Kate Walsh is widely known for her starring roles in Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, as well as Emily in Paris, 13 Reasons Why, and The Umbrella Academy.

Raised along California’s northern coast, Walsh spent much of her childhood exploring the tide pools of Santa Cruz before later moving to Tucson, where trips to Puerto Peñasco deepened her connection to the ocean and marine life.

A longtime supporter of Oceana, Walsh has helped advocate for policies to protect Belize’s barrier reef from offshore drilling, stop the expansion of offshore drilling in U.S. waters, and safeguard threatened marine wildlife, including sea turtles.

She has partnered with National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions to promote science-focused exploration and conservation, and has supported organizations including Sea Legacy, World Wildlife Fund, and The Nature Conservancy.

Beyond her environmental work, Walsh has long been an advocate for women’s health and rights, serving on Planned Parenthood’s Board of Advocates for more than two decades and as an ambassador for Operation Smile.

Walsh is the creator and founder of the award-winning fragrance company Boyfriend Perfume, which has grown into an internationally recognized lifestyle brand.
